Horchata is a traditional Mexican drink that's made of white rice water! Through adding flavors like cinnamon you can have a tasty drink that can be easily made from home.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup uncooked white rice
3 1/3 cups water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup milk
4 oz evaporated milk (1/3 can)
4 oz sweetened condensed milk (1/3 can)
Ice for serving
makes 6 servings
Directions:
Soak rice in 1 cup water for 10 minutes
Pour rice with water into a blender, and blend till smooth
Pour rice mixture through strainer and into a bowl, separating the solid particles
Pour the rice water back into the blender
Add remaining 2 1/3 cup water, cinnamon milk, evaporated milk and condensed milk - blend till smooth
Pour out drink into cups with ice and enjoy!
