There are so many ways to use beans in various dishes, but have you ever snacked on them? Chickpeas are often found in Indian and Mediterranean dishes. When looking for them in the grocery store sometimes they are sold as garbanzo beans.
This is our favorite way to enjoy chickpeas as a sweeter snack..and it's pretty simple to make!
Ingredients:
1 cup canned chickpeas
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp salt
optional pinch of nutmeg
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degree F
Rinse and dry chickpeas
Spread chickpeas on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
Roast chickpeas in oven for 20 minutes
Combine olive oil, honey, cinnamon, and salt into a small bowl and mix
Carefully remove from oven using an oven mitt
Toss the chickpeas with the olive oil mixture to coat
Cool chickpeas before eating
