Allergies
We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment to all of our students. We accommodate for a wide range of allergies and dietary restrictions, and we work with our instructors to provide ingredient substitutions and alternate recipes when possible. However, we are unable to safely accommodate all restrictions. Please review our allergy policies below to see if our classes are the right fit for your student.
Nuts, Peanuts, and Sesame
We are a nut and sesame-free program, and we do not use ingredients containing nuts or sesame, or packaged foods that read “may contain traces of nuts or sesame” in our recipes.
Fish, Shellfish, and Meat
We do not include fish, shellfish, or meat in our cooking activities. We can accommodate vegetarian-friendly diets, but we cannot accommodate vegan diets.
Eggs, Milk, and Gluten
If your child has specific dietary restrictions related to eggs, lactose, or gluten, please be aware that we will not be able to exclude ingredients containing these items from our recipes. We do not use raw or cooked eggs in the class but some store-bought items such as bread may contain eggs, and we cannot exclude these items.
Communication Guidelines
Parents play an essential role in creating an allergy-safe environment. If your child has any of the above allergies/intolerances or other food-related allergies/intolerances, please reach out to us prior to the first class and clearly communicate how we can best accommodate your child. Every child is different, and you know your child best!
Safety Guidelines
Note that for the safety of your child, we may advise that the class is not the best fit for them, depending on their allergies and dietary restrictions. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. If you have any specific concerns or questions regarding our cooking program policies, please feel free to reach out to us at info@icookafterschool.com
